The
Dallas County Community College Council on Black American Affairs
(DCCCCBAA)
operates in association with the Southern Region of the National Council on
Black American Affairs (NCBAA). The NCBAA is an affiliate council of
the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), which represents the
interest of community and technical colleges nationwide.
The
Dallas County Community Colleges Chapter is organized to focus primarily on
African Americans and higher education in the Dallas
County community. The organization exists to:
1) Provide a support network
for diversity,
2) Provide opportunities for
upward mobility and professional development;
3) Encourage support of
equity goals at Dallas County Community Colleges, and
4) Promote increased
recruitment, retention and achievement of African American students,
faculty, and staff.
The
DCCCCBAA allows students, faculty, non-teaching personnel, and
administrators to work toward the common cause of increasing educational
opportunities, enhancing employment potential and prospects, and ensure a
quality higher education for everyone within the community college system.
